Inauguration of Block IIIb September 2025

The inauguration of coal mine 1 Block IIIb shall mark the formal ceremonial event of the official opening, and commencement of full-scale operations at Block IIIb.

Asia Power Group are looking forward to celebrating the transition from planning to active production and bringing this major infrastructure project online.

Block IIIb shall have and Economic and Developmental Impact: job creation, regional development, and contributions to national energy security. The development of Block IIIb shall help to boost local economies, provide employment (with 3,0000 jobs in mining and related power plants), and reduce the regions reliance on imported fuels by utilizing domestic coal reserves.

The event shall bring together government officials, our investors, the local communities, and industry leaders fostering partnerships, and discuss and demonstrate our strategy in relation to environmental concerns.

In the Thar coalfield, inaugurations of blocks like Block II have already occurred for the China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC) projects, promoting coal-fired power plants for affordable electricity. In Block IIIb (part of Block III a&b, covering 75 sq km with 1.45 billion tonnes of reserves), our inauguration will focus on our planned 5 million tonnes per annum mining capacity and associated 2×660 MW power plant, to be developed by our company to contribute to Pakistan’s energy goals and performance.
